New for Storytime Pro version 1.2.6, a unique layout was designed for a more book-reading experience. Your story’s featured image will be seen on the left side while the story is scrollable to the right.

In some ways, it’s almost like a book:

You can see it live here: Story Post Demo

What is different about this layout is that it’s using a page template and not the Post Layout setting in the customizer. For each post you make, you can assign the post with the Story template.

  1. Go to Posts > Add New
  2. Create your story post and then in the Template tab of the block editor, and under the Post Attributes section if you are using the Classic Editor. Select the Story Post template. You can assign this template to any existing post as well; make sure it has a featured image, though.
  3. Click the Publish button.

NOTE: Please be aware this layout is for reading only and does not contain standard post elements like comments, meta post information, etc.

Story Post Settings

With the Story Post layout, you have a few settings that are made available specific to the featured image column. You can resize your layout, change the transparency level of the dark overlay, and you can also change the colour of the overlay.
