There is a create thumbnails tutorial, found in the Common Setup docs, but this one is just a wee bit different. In previous themes, you are able to check the box next to every thumbnail size that you want to create when uploading “new” images.

I should note that this is a feature in the pro version of Fifty50.

With Fifty50, we changed this so that only one can be selected. Ultimately, when you use the thumbnail creation feature, this will automatically crop the featured image for your blog. There are a few others that can be generated:

  • Recent Posts WidgetThis one is automatically created.
  • Full Post Featured Image

If you decide to change your blog layout with featured images that have previously been uploaded (and cropped), you can still choose the thumbnail size you want. The only thing that you need to do is to regenerate your images with a plugin, such as Regenerate Thumbnails, by  Alex Mills (Viper007Bond).

Choose Your Thumbnail(s)

Based on the blog layout (when using Fifty50 Premium) that you plan to use, select the corresponding thumbnail size.

Then, you can decide if you want to enable the one for full posts and/or related posts (recommended).
