This tutorial will show you how to change your blog summaries to use excerpts instead. This gives you a more consistent style for each post summary. Some blog layouts are precoded to use only excerpts while others will inherit your choice to use excerpts.
- Go to Appearance > Customize > Blog Options.
- Look for the Blog Excerpts section and then choose Enable Blog Excerpts by clicking on the toggle.
- Now look for the Excerpt Length setting and choose how many words to have in your post excerpts. You can see the counter to the right, along with a reset if you change your mind.
- Click the Publish button.
NOTE: Using excerpts will remove all formatting and images for the part of your post that will be used. However, when viewing the full post, all formatting and images will return.
